Proper Smartphone Recycling Prevents E-Waste

Smartphones are becoming more popular every day. Approximately 75% of Americans currently own smartphones, and Apple reported over 4 million preorders for the iPhone 6 within 24 hours of announcing the device. As of 2009, according to the EPA, only 40% of consumer electronics were recycled, and only 8% of mobile devices were recycled. E-waste is a growing problem and with consumers itching for the latest and greatest smartphones, are consumers properly disposing of their old smartphones?
